Our first dining event was July 8th of 1986 and we have had the pleasure of meeting thousands of single people and hosting hundreds of events since then.
What is the average age of the members?
We welcome single people of all ages and our members range in age anywhere from the mid to late twenties on up. However, our average age is late thirties through 50s. If you are in your 20s and wish to socialize mainly with people in your own age group, you may wish to consider joining Eight at Eight Dinner Club (www.eightateight.com).
How often do you schedule dinners and events?
We offer approximately one or two events each week in addition to a diverse travel program including both domestic and international travel. Other local events include Special Events, Theme Parties, Cruises, Sporting Events, Wine and Beer Tastings, Tours, Cultural Events and Sunday Brunches.
Is Single Gourmet a dating service?
Absolutely not. Although the events provide a wonderful and pressure-free atmosphere to meet many single people, we do not attempt to match members up with one another. Rather, we provide an enjoyable and safe opportunity for singles to socialize and get to know each other.
Will I feel comfortable attending Single Gourmet alone?
Definitely. In fact the majority of our members do come to events on their own. Single Gourmet directors are always in attendance to greet members and introduce them to one another and you will find the majority of the members to be quite friendly. If you would feel more comfortable attending with a friend, you are welcome to bring a guest along.
How many people attend the events?
On weeknights (Monday through Thursday), approximately 40 to 70 people are typically in attendance. Friday and Saturday evenings are larger with approximately 75-100 or more and some of our parties could have well over 200 members in attendance.
Is Single Gourmet a franchise?
No. Although chapters exist nationwide as well as in Canada, each Single Gourmet chapter is individually owned and operated, all following the same basic premise that members share an appreciation for fine dining, friendship and stimulating conversation.
